Economy Today

"We want change!" -- a line that has been consistently heard from the people. As what I have seen, the economy of the Philippines hasn't improved, to my dismay, many people still doesn't have a stable job; unemployment would be the first issue that, I think, is to be given direct attention. As we all know, many Filipinos are going out of the country in order to earn money for their families, others even migrate to different countries, to be able to avoid poverty and unemployment in the Philippines; these are issues to be given importance by the government, corruption is also included. During the last election, when they announced Noynoy Aquino as the winner, I was happy because I know, he will be the change that, I think, will be able to make our country prosper. The economy under Aquino's office faces budget shortfalls in the near term, but has had little difficulty issuing debt both locally and internationally to finance the deficits. Aquino's first budget emphasizes education, which makes me happy because there are so many children in the Philippines who are not able to go to school due to reasons which may include, poverty, lack of financial profits and also there are others who are in the rural areas, which makes it difficult for them to go to a school, I feel sorry for the children who weren't able to be in a school and be educated because for me, education is the key to success and no one can ever take it from you, you would use your knowledge in making right decisions for the people and maybe someday, you can make advocacies for the people. President Aquino also included other social spending programs, relying on the private sector to finance important infrastructure projects. Weak tax collection in recent years limits the government's ability to address major challenges. i feel that President Aquino is pressured because of the economy of the Philippines, people voted for him, knowing he would create a big change for the country, we will not know for sure until we could see "dramatic changes" in the economy, here in the Philippines.
